There is a kind of boasting that is good, honorable, righteous, and beautiful. And it is used by God for him to get the glory, and for the gospel to advance.
As someone who grew up in a pessimistic household, I quickly adopted my parents way of thinking. But how could I change my attitude after living as a pessimist for so long?
Have you too been left wondering why things flip-flopped, seemingly overnight, and what to do about it? Have you experienced the frustration of having a vibrant youth group fizzle out: a group of kids who had been so passionate and regular and then suddenly theyre not?
We can appreciate kindness. We can demand kindness. But unless Christ crucified produces in us a penitent heart, our efforts toward kindness are futile.
People are fixated on their rights; but, have a shriveled sense of responsibility. As a result, if they don’t get what they want, they assume it must be somebody else’s fault. “Don’t blame me!”
What pitfalls in ministry should we be watching out for? This is a question many womens ministry teams have asked. They know there is something holy about the way women minister to women, but also are aware that as programs, people, and politics of local churches push in, problems can arise. If you see any of the following cracks in the foundation of your ministries there is still time to fill them before they widen into dangerous pitfalls.
Truth be told, if someone is in a church and feels lonely for very long at all, chances are they won’t return. People need to feel connected and part of a community. You can help be a facilitator of that, and indeed, should be.
