St. Philip's Church
Church Directory

- Ancient meets modern worship - St. Philip's is a non-denominational church with an Anglican background. Our worship is unique in that we blend elements of liturgy, celebrate communion almost every week, but we have modern music and messages.
- Multi-generational worship- we value having all ages at our church and being there for all stages of peoples' lives! We love having music and messages that reach people of all generations. One minute, we might be singing a hymn, and the next song, a new worship song that just came out! We believe in honoring the generations that have gone before us, while also pouring into the younger generations. I think it's a church that both your grandma and teenage daughter would appreciate!
- Student Ministry and Kids Kamp - St. Philip's is a church that cares about families and reaching the youth of the community around us. Our summer Kids Kamp has over 800 attendees, including hundreds of local teenagers who volunteer every summer as camp leaders. Our Hangin In middle school ministry reaches hundreds of Moon Middle School students, and is known in the community to really make a difference in students' lives.
- Authenticity- One of the things that I love the most about St. Philip's is that we are a very down to earth and authentic community of believers. We are not into the latest trends and never have the flashiest technology. We want authentic worship services where people meet Jesus and learn the word of God. We're not interested in hype, cheesy gimmicks, or church feeling like it's a big production. We want people to know that it's all about Jesus, and it's not about everything appearing perfect. Too many churches that I have been to in the last decade have felt to me like a concert or Ted talk, and St. Philip's really shies away from these things. Our worship services are humble, interactive, sacramental, focused on meeting Jesus, and often described as relatable or real.
- Why I love our "mid-size" church There's a good chance that the second time you come back to St. Philip's, that someone will remember your name. We are not such a huge church that people slip through the cracks, but not too small that it feels claustrophobic. I love that we have no green room, no place where leaders can disappear. Every leader sits with the congregation, and talks to everyone each week in the lobby. There is no countdown clock to be found, which makes worship feel so real and present, and less like a production or time sheet that we must stick by. The size of our church feels like you can genuinely get to know everyone, in fact, I put my cell phone up on a slide so basically everyone has my number and could contact me!
- The least judgmental church I have ever been a part of I have worked at churches my whole life and never been a part of a church is so nonjudgmental. It feels like everyone at St. Philip's knows the grace of God and prioritizes loving others. I don't know how our church culture has become so genuine, but it's very true- people will pretty much only love you and care for you at St. Philip's, not look down on you, gossip about you, or condemn you. It's a beautiful thing about our church culture-- it's very humble and loving.
- Solid Bible teaching One thing I love is that we are constantly going through books of the Bible. The Word of God is so highly valued and well-taught. Sermons are very focused on the gospel and lifting Jesus high, not on just "moral lessons" or topical series. We teach the Bible in a way that makes sense to any age, and have very sound doctrine and theology.
- Community impact St. Philip's has a great reputation in Moon Township and cares a lot about serving the surrounding community. We have monthly service projects, run the Harvest Moon Race which hundreds of community members come out to, our preschool is a huge blessing to the community and reaches tons of families. We host the High School Baccalaureate and work very well with the school district especially when there is a community crisis.
- Friendly I would say this is the number one word that I hear people use to describe our church. People are very very welcoming, and it's easy to find friendships and people to connect with at St. Philip's. We have a number of small groups and various groups that meet where people can make real community. We're currently running an Alpha program and have 95 attendees coming together each week to eat dinner together and watch a video about growing in faith. We have a Griefshare group that meets, and tons of opportunities for people to serve, connect, and make friends.
