There’s a moment every year—usually just before Thanksgiving—when New York City exhales, shakes off the last remnants of autumn, and quietly slips into her most dazzling attire. The air gets a little crisper. The storefront windows begin their slow transformation into theatrical stages of sparkle and nostalgia. And before anyone is fully ready, the city becomes a Christmas postcard once again.

We’re right on the cusp of that magic now.

Already uptown, the Harlem Light Parade is setting hearts racing with anticipation, and on Fifth Avenue the iconic 57th Street Snowflake has returned to its home, suspended above the glittering canyon of luxury stores and holiday dreamers. Any day now, the world will gather around skating rink railings and cup steaming cocoa to watch the Rockefeller Christmas Tree erupt in light. Locals pretend they don’t care—but of course they do. It never gets old. That glow brings us back to the best versions of ourselves.

And here at That Passport Life, we’re riding that wave of wonder.

✈️ This Week’s Travel: Paris & The Maldives

This edition we take you somewhere romantic and somewhere surreal—Paris and The Maldives.

Paris, always the heartbeat of romance, becomes something transcendent in winter. Cafés glow like fireplaces spilled onto sidewalks. Lovers curl into corners of bistros beneath golden lamplight. Fresh snow can turn the Île Saint-Louis or Place des Vosges into cinematic scenes. And if you know us, you know Paris is personal—it’s woven into the fabric of our love story, and it will always be our city.

And then we bolt across the globe to the Maldives, where time slows to a whisper. Crystal lagoons. White sand that feels like sifted flour under your feet. Wooden walkways floating over turquoise water like something out of a dream. If Paris is where you go to feel your heart beat louder, the Maldives is where you go to hear it clearly.

Both places capture wonder—just different frequencies of it.

A personal note I’m thrilled to share: my Christmas album Such Tiny Shoulders has begun attracting unexpected and exciting attention. KLove and Star99.1 reached out this week requesting singles for their programming departments, and 64 Spotify playlist curators are already targeting the project’s first two singles. The album is now live on Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon, and rumor is a companion soundtrack of instrumental cinematic arrangements may drop soon.
