A heroic New York cop comes to the rescue when he catches a family jumping from the second story of their burning home. Officer Mark Conklin of the Jamestown Police Department found out about a nearby fire when he was answering a service call while he was on duty. He didn’t have on any heat protection but ran straight to the fire to see how he could help. His bodycam footage shows Officer Conklin race to the scene of the house where it was engulfed in flames. What a terrifying sight! In the house was an adult and children trapped inside. Officer Conklin encouraged the family trapped in the burning house to jump. He successfully caught them, saving their lives. What a true hero! The house that caught on fire belonged to the Rivera family. Hector and Brooke Rivera are husband and wife and have four children between the ages of 3 and 12. Their house was completely destroyed, and they lost everything in it. But at least they didn’t lose each other, thanks to Officer Conklin. In order to help out the family, the Jamestown Police Department set up a GoFundMe page for the family to help raise money for them to get back on their feet. This heroic act by Officer Conklin shows us what protect and serve really means. Without a second thought, he jumped right in to save this family and did exactly what he was trained to do. Tim Jackson, the Jamestown Police Chief, said Officer Conklin’s actions were one of the most outstanding examples of bravery, heroism, and exemplary service he has ever seen. May God continue to look out for Officer Conklin as he protects and serves his community. And may God watch over the Rivera family as they recover from this traumatic event of losing their home.

One 18-year-old tourist saves a mom and son when he sees them caught in a deadly rip current at the beach. Travis Shrout is from Akron, Ohio and was recently vacationing with his family in Topsail Beach, North Carolina. He was swimming in the ocean and was about to head to shore when he saw a mother and son struggling in the water. “I said, ‘Are you alright?’ And she kind of turned around to me, and she just said, ‘No,’” explained Travis. That’s when Travis passed his boogie board to the mother and quickly swam out to rescue her son. Then he brought them to shore. And the whole incredible rescue was caught on camera with a drone. The mother and son that Travis rescued were Ashley Bachelor and her 10-year-old son, Connor. “‘You have saved our life!’ I think I kept saying that over and over again,” said Ashley when asked what she said to Travis once she was out of the water. “I said, ‘If I could give you anything in the world, I would give it to you right now!’” Travis’s mother watched the entire rescue from the shore, and when Travis brought Ashley and Connor out of the water, the two mothers shared an embrace. “She had grabbed my mom and just hugged her for a minute, minute-and-a-half straight,” said Travis. “Both of them, just sitting there crying. My mom, from relief and being proud, I guess, and her from just the pure terror of she thought she was going to die.” Thanks to Travis’s quick-thinking and his lifeguard skills that he learned at his local YMCA, Ashley and Connor are safe and extremely grateful for Travis’s help. “Hard to realize that, if I wasn’t there, we could have been pulling bodies in from the beach,” Travis said. God definitely had Travis in the right place at the right time to save this mother and son in need!

Check out this inspiring audition on America’s Got Talent where Ray Singleton dedicates the song he is singing to his wife who just survived brain cancer. Ray is a 31-year-old from Charlotte, NC, and singing has always been a dream of his. “To sing has been my dream my entire life,” Ray shared. “But after college, I was looking for a job. I ended up selling cars, but I never stopped singing. And he showed his passion for his craft during his AGT audition. He also shared the touching story behind his song of choice. “I am singing a love song in dedication to my wife,” he said. “It’s a story of everything she is to me and everything that I want to be to her. Actually, the reason that I’m here is because of my wife. She’s a U.S. Navy veteran. She’s also a brain cancer survivor.” Ray and his wife, Rosalind, were married in November 2018. Just after their 1-year wedding anniversary, they found out some devastating news. “I went to the doctor, and she said, ‘You have a mass the size of an orange on your brain,’” said Rosalind. After going through 10 months of chemotherapy, Ray shared about how music was able to help them both get through the tough time. “It was hard seeing her go through that,” Ray said. “When I felt helpless, I sat down at the piano, with her by my side, and I sang her a song. It was simply to make my wife smile.” “His singing helped. It got me through brain cancer. Yeah, it helped, a lot,” Rosalind said with tears filling up her eyes. “I told him that I wanted him to live his dream, and I’m so proud of him being here, I really am.” Thankfully, Ray’s wife is now cancer free, and he was able to dedicate his audition song to her. The song that Ray sings is "I Am Yours" by Andy Grammer. “Just another love song from a simple man I been searching for some chords underneath these hands, so I can try to tell you I love you You know I need you like your oxygen, be my atmosphere, let me breath you in So I can try to tell you I love you, I been lost, I been found But I know I am now, I am yours, I am yours now and always” What an emotional and beautiful performance! It was so full of warmth and love, just like the relationship between Ray and Rosalind. Ray’s audition got 4 yeses from the judges, and he was able to celebrate with a sweet embrace with his wife onstage. May God continue to bless this beautiful couple, and may music continue to be a light for Ray throughout his life.

Is your baby constantly thirsty? Is your child losing weight? One mom shares a warning after her 18-month-old’s symptoms led to a serious health diagnosis. At first, Courtney Moore merely thought her son was thirsty because of the heat wave in California. With temperatures rising into the triple digits, she didn’t think anything of it when her son kept grabbing her water bottle and taking huge. But when he began soaking through his nighttime diapers, she became concerned and decided it would be best to call Maddox’s pediatrician. Prior to calling his doctor, Courtney reached out to friends. Multiple moms suggested she simply double up on diapers at night. But Courtney couldn’t shake the feeling something wasn’t right. That’s when she received a diagnosis she never expected. She had no idea her son’s life was in danger until the pediatrician informed her that Maddox’s blood glucose readings were over 600. A normal blood glucose would read well under 150. Her son was in diabetic ketoacidosis. He was immediately treated for type one diabetes because his pancreas was not making enough insulin. The diagnosis of an autoimmune disease came as a shock to Courtney. Left untreated, these diseases can be life threatening. Other symptoms for type one diabetes include being lethargic, feeling unwell, peeing often, and unexplained weight loss. Praise God that Courtney followed her gut and advocated for her child, otherwise her son might not be here today. Now that Maddox is being treated with insulin, he is thriving. But Courtney wants every mom to know that their child’s thirst could be more than just the basic need for re-hydration—it could be diabetes. Thank God for the wisdom He so generously gave to Courtney! Because of God’s generosity, He is working through Courtney to help other moms become more aware of the symptoms of diabetes. “How much better to get wisdom than gold, to get insight rather than silver!” Proverbs 16:16

God works behind the scenes when a pregnant woman receives an incredible gift after a freak accident sends her husband to the hospital. God certainly knows how to give good gifts and He uses people, like you and me, to be His generous gift givers. Recently, Maddie Morris found herself on the receiving end of one of these generous miracles. Maddie had been blissfully married to the love of her life, Anthony, for two years when she discovered God had blessed them with a baby. Maddie couldn’t believe she was going to become a mother and she immediately began dreaming about watching her amazing husband Anthony be a father. She dreamed of how he would toss a ball around in the yard with their son, if it was a boy, and how he would cherish and dote on a beautiful, baby girl. But one evening, their lives were changed forever after a freak accident less than five miles from their home. The couple was in their their car when a caravan of cars came their way. In a split second, a rod came through the windshield of the vehicle and impaled Anthony through his brain. He was immediately rushed into surgery but Maddie soon learned her husband suffered a traumatic brain injury. He would never regain use of the left side of his body because he suffered a right hemispherical stroke in the process. Maddie also learned her husband may never regain his sight. This means Anthony will never return to his job as a landscaper, which supported his family. All these new and tragic circumstances left Maddie reeling of what their future will be. But God is a generous God who gives good gifts even in the midst of pain. God put it on Maddie’s friend, Ashley, to help the family receive some good news. Ashley called into an Australian radio station and got in touch with people from the Kyle and Jackie O Show. After sharing Ashley’s story, the radio station generosity gifted Ashely and her growing family $15,000! How amazing is God? What an incredible gift during tragic times It is indeed a blessing to not only give a gift but to feel the joy of helping someone in their time of need. Let us all continue to rally around this sweet couple and pray for God’s hand to continue to provide for this little family. “In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ” Acts 20:35

In a hilarious mistake, one family comes home to find a sparkling clean apartment. Turns out, the ‘cleaning fairy’ was at the wrong address! Louis Angelino lives in New Jersey and has a cleaning service called ‘The Cleaning Fairy.’ Recently, the 27-year-old was hired to clean a friend’s apartment. And he made sure to dust, wash the dishes, and do everything needed to get the place in tip-top shape. “Two-and-a-half hours later, the place is spotless,” said Louis. Louis was told by his friend that he could find the key under the doormat, which Louis did, giving him easy access to the apartment. But things took a perplexing turn once his friend reached out to him with a question. “Are you here? Did you come clean today?” Louis said his friend asked him over the phone. “And I was like, ‘Yeah! I came and cleaned. I’m sitting in your living room right now. Your cat is on my lap. I’m playing with your cat.’” “Uh Louis, I don’t have a cat,” said his surprised friend. That’s when they both realized that Louis had just spent his afternoon cleaning the wrong apartment! It was just a coincidence that both apartments kept keys under their front door mats. What was even more funny was the reaction that the homeowner had when he walked in to find an immaculate apartment. “The couch is all put together. Everything’s shiny. And there’s nothing in the sink!” said the man who videotaped his surprisingly clean apartment. And he just had to tell his wife about the odd occurrence. ‘You’re not going to believe this. Somebody broke in and cleaned our apartment!” he shared with his wife, Beth. “You really can’t make this stuff up,” said Louie. “But here we are!” What a welcome surprise that would have been! I’m sure that Beth and her husband were delighted to see that the ‘cleaning fairy’ decided to stop by their place and work some magic.

In this heart-stopping video, a group of heroic strangers rush to help carnival riders that are in danger when a ride starts to tip over. The incredible moment was caught on camera at the annual National Cherry Festival in Traverse City, Michigan. The carnival ride that malfunctioned was The Magic Carpet Ride, and festival goers rushed to the attraction to try and hold it steady. What a scary moment! The giant pendulum ride was holding about a dozen passengers when it started tipping back and forth. The base of the ride was almost lifting off the ground! That must have been such a terrifying feeling for the riders on the ride, as well as the people on the ground witnessing it happen! “I’ve never seen anything shake like that,” said Trevor Drew, who was on the ride when it started to malfunction. “I’d been on that type of ride before. I could tell it was a lot more violent. It seemed a little more shaky.” Joy Ogemaw was at the festival and near the ride when it started to act up. She even took a quick video of the scary scene. “Once it started moving like that, and it looked like it was about to tip over, I was like, ‘This is not happening.’ It was to the point where the base of it was leaning way back, and I was like, ‘That looks like it is about to fall back into the river right now.’ I could not believe what I was seeing,” Joy said. Thankfully, strangers nearby were able to jump in and help when they saw that something was going terribly wrong with the ride. Their kindness and quick-thinking helped save a lot of lives that evening. Because of them, the people on the ride were able to get off safely and return home to their loved ones.

Mat starts off singing first in the music video, and he can be seen standing in front of the Ronald McDonald House in Utah. The text on the first slide of the video shares about what the Ronald McDonald House is all about. “The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Intermountain Area is to surround families with the support they need to be near and care for their seriously ill or injured children,” the text reads. As Mat is singing, there are pictures of families and staff from the Ronald McDonald House that flash by on the screen. Then Savanna starts to sing the second verse of the song. Her voice is so beautiful! Later, the father and daughter are singing together, and their harmonies are just lovely. In the caption of the YouTube video, Savanna shares about how special this song and organization is to her and her family. “‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’ is a song of hope for a better tomorrow. It teaches us that there is always a brighter tomorrow if we just believe! This song was the very first I ever learned,” Savanna shares. “I had this little pink princess CD player that I would sit by for hours in my room and listen to that song. It was such a joy to cover this song all these years later.” She continues: “We recently had the chance to perform this song at an event supporting the Ronald McDonald Foundation. This is an amazing organization that surrounds families with the support they need to be near and care for their seriously ill or injured children. A few years ago, our family was blessed by their resources while my sister Pennie Jean needed to stay in the hospital for several weeks. They were literally a rainbow of hope during a difficult time. Be sure to check out the great work they do. We hope you enjoy ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow’!” What a talented, kind-hearted father-daughter duo! They did a beautiful job with this song, and it is wonderful to see them using their talents for such a great cause.

A camera captures a pig trying to walk a horse, and it’s too funny! You’ve probably seen videos of dogs holding their own leashes or some clips of cats walking dogs. But have you ever seen a pair of farm animals taking a stroll? Well, this courageous pig decided that this horse could use some physical activity! Apparently, the owner of the animals walked up to find the pig trying to steal her horse! He probably thinks he’s so slick and sneaky. Believe it or not, pigs are actually incredibly smart animals so he knew exactly what he was doing. Uh oh, a thief right on their own farm! You can see that the piggy made multiple attempts to get the horse to follow him. He pulled on the reins as if they were a leash. I guess he just knows what he wants! It’s unclear if the horse wanted to refuse or just didn’t understand what was happening. Obviously, that little pig wouldn’t successfully pull the gigantic horse, but I’m sure he was pretty convincing. Every time the pig pulled, the horse took a few more steps with him. Little by little, the horse started to give in or figure out the plan. Eventually, the two started their continuous stroll — in the direction that the pig preferred. What a brave little pig taking on a horse 10 times his size! Therefore let us also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
