Casting Crowns - Just Be Held

The song "Just Be Held" from Casting Crowns' "Thrive" album. Written by Mark Hall, Bernie Herms, and Matthew West. The message of the song is that our human nature leads us to try to do everything ourselves, "chained by our control." Solomon advises us in Proverbs 3:5 to "lean not on our own understanding", but we tend to do that rather than "surrendering" and "laying it down and letting it go." In the end the simple message of the song is "just be held."

Managing Disappointment

How do you react when things don't go the way you want them to? Do you spend a lot of time thinking about what you don't have, what you do want, where you used to be, where you want to go? What do you play around with in your mind? How much do you let culture influence you? Are you always comparing yourself and competing with other people? What do you do with disappointments?

Brother

We have seen enough of what divides us: race, status, religion. The heartbreaking stories in Charleston, McKinney, Baltimore, and Ferguson are more than enough evidence that it's time for the Church to step up and speak "love" into these divisions. Featuring music by The Brilliance, “Brother” reminds us that we have more in common than we realize. Watch this video by Journey Box Media.

Jackie Evancho - To Believe

Jackie was 11 years old when she recorded this song. Amazing. An operatic voice at that age. The song was written by her uncle Matthew Evancho. Beatiful, poignant, inspiring song. I hope my video does it justice.

21. Healing Relationships Through Forgiveness: Battle and Rely - Part 21

This video is the twenty-first in a multi-part series entitled "Healing Relationships through Forgiveness.” It deals with the Principle #21: Forgiveness requires supernatural strength, time, and a battle. When we have sinned or done something against another (spouse, child, friend, etc.), we have first sinned against God and must reconcile with Him. After this, we must go to the person we have wronged and ask for forgiveness. Now we move on to the final session which deals with the struggle one may experience as he or she attempts to reconcile a relationship. In this section, Dr. Jones discusses how to put on the armor of God to find victory in the reconciliation process.
