"The Love Of God" is a hymn written in 1917 by Frederick M. Lehman. However its origins date back to the year 1096 when a Jewish hymn writer wrote a portion of the song. Lehman finished it over 800 years later.
From their 2011 Christmas album "Joy: An Irish Christmas" this is the Gettys singing the song "Fullness Of Grace", based on John 1:14,16-17. Keith and Kristyn wrote the song in 2004 along with their buddy Stuart Townend. It was one of the first songs they collaborated on with Stuart.
(I already made of video for Kristian Stanfill's version of this song. Then I heard Tricia Brock's version and I can't decide which I like better. So I made a video for Tricia's version, too. Same pictures as before, so it's only half-new).
Is your life stuck in a rut? Does your life seem to have no purpose? Do you feel like you're just spinning your wheels? Listen to this song, it may turn your life around. If you are willing to surrender your humdrum life to God he can turn:
Hopeless into hopeful Darkness into light Lost into found Purposeless into purposeful Despair into fulfillment Fear into peace Burdens into freedom
No, your problems won't magically disappear. He doesn't promise that. In fact, if you read John 16:33 He promises just the opposite ("in this world you will have trouble"). But read the rest of that verse (I'll leave that as an exercise to the reader) for the good news.
Think about it and then act. Tomorrow could be "the day when life begins" for you.
Oh, yes, sonically the song itself is smashing. Driving, upbeat, encouraging, in typical Phil Wickham style. From his wonderful album "Response".
The title song from Lenny's 2002 album. A beautiful and romantic song, cleverly crafted by Lenny to depict both the love between a man and a woman and also the love between us and our Lord and Savior. Lenny was a pop singer back in the '80s (remember "Falling" by LeBlanc & Carr? That's the same guy.) Lenny also co-wrote the Dove Award-winning song "Above All" (along with Paul Baloche), as well as writing "There Is None Like You" and many others.
That's Lenny's wife Sherrie singing harmony on this song.
From the live "Saviour King" Hillsong album, Brooke Fraser Ligertwood singing the marvelous song "Hosanna", which she penned. I captured the images from DVDs of the annual live Hillsong concerts. While I love listening to the music on the corresponding Hillsong CDs, I really get more out of it by watching the DVDs. And while watching the Hillsong musicians themselves perform, the most special part is when the cameras focus on the audience and capture them in unabashed praise and worship. I feel a little bit like a voyeur, though. Anyway, sorry if some of the images are less than crisp; I just played the DVD on my laptop and used Alt-PrtScr to grab them.
