A Prayer to Not Be Fearful of Death | Your Daily Prayer

Fear is one of the most powerful emotions we face—especially when it comes to death and loss. In this honest daily prayer and devotional, Vivian Bricker shares her journey of learning to trust God after losing her mother and struggling with the deep, ongoing fear of death. Her words remind us that while death is an unavoidable part of life, we don’t face it alone. Through the promise of Isaiah 41:10, God calls us to release our fear and hold fast to His strength. He promises His presence, His help, and His upholding hand. When grief grips our hearts or anxiety clouds our thoughts, we can find comfort knowing that Jesus is with us—in life, in death, and forevermore. This episode encourages us to surrender our fears to the One who conquered death and to rest in the hope of eternal reunion with those we love. Today's Bible Reading: “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10 💡 Takeaway Truths God promises His strength and presence when we face fear, loss, and death. We don’t have to let fear control us—Jesus is with us in life and in eternity. True peace comes when we trust God with our future and rest in His love. 🙏 Let’s Pray Dear God, Help me not to live in fear of death or of losing those I love. I know You are with me, You will strengthen me, and You will uphold me with Your righteous right hand. I give You my fears and ask You to fill me with Your peace. Remind me that You have conquered death and that one day, I will be reunited with You and my loved ones in Heaven. Even when darkness surrounds me, help me to trust in Your light and love. Thank You for Your comfort and Your presence that never leaves me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. 📖 Related Scriptures John 14:1–3 — “Do not let your hearts be troubled… I go to prepare a place for you.” Psalm 23:4 — “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil…” 1 Thessalonians 4:13–14 — “We do not grieve as others do who have no hope…”

A Prayer to Boldly Use Your Unique Set of Gifts | Your Daily Prayer

Inside each of us, God has placed a unique combination of gifts — a divine mix of talents, passions, and personality that reflects His creative design. Yet, as our daily prayer and devotional remind us, so often, fear holds us back from using them. We compare ourselves to others, worry about failure, and hide our gifts instead of letting them shine for God’s glory. In today’s meditation, Whitney Hopler reminds us that fear does not come from God. Instead, He gives us power, love, and self-control to boldly live out our purpose. When we step out in faith, relying on God’s strength, our gifts become like a blazing fire — illuminating His truth and love to a world in need. If you’ve been hesitant to use your gifts, today’s prayer invites you to ask God to reignite that holy fire within you. Let His Spirit empower you to serve with confidence, courage, and joy. Today's Bible Reading: “… I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands, for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” – 2 Timothy 1:6–7, ESV 💡 Takeaway Truths God has given each of us a unique set of gifts designed for His purpose. Fear tries to silence our gifts, but God’s Spirit empowers us with power, love, and self-control. Living out our gifts boldly glorifies God and brings light to others. 🙏 Let’s Pray Dear God, Thank You for creating me with purpose and blessing me with a unique mix of gifts. Too often, I let fear hold me back from using them. Forgive me for the times I’ve hidden my talents instead of serving boldly. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit — with power, love, and self-control — so I can step out in faith. Help me to recognize the opportunities You’ve placed before me and give me the courage to act on them. May my life shine brightly for You. Use me, Lord. Amen. 📖 Related Scriptures 1 Peter 4:10 — “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others…” Romans 12:6 — “We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us…” Joshua 1:9 — “Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

He's Still Working on Me | Your Nightly Prayer

We are all a work in progress — every one of us. As our nightly prayer and devotional recall, in Philippians 1:6, Paul reminds believers that God’s work in our lives is ongoing, intentional, and faithful. He is shaping our hearts and refining our character day by day, even when we can’t yet see the finished masterpiece. Angie Grant recalls a sweet song from her childhood: “He’s still working on me to make me what I ought to be… How loving and patient He must be, He’s still working on me.” This simple tune carries a profound truth: God is patient with His people. His process may not be instant, but it is purposeful. As parents, spouses, or friends, we’re called to reflect that same patience toward others — especially when life feels slow or imperfect. Angie shares a touching moment when her young son gently reminded her of this truth by singing, “There really ought to be a sign upon my heart, don’t judge me yet, there’s an unfinished part…” In that moment, she was reminded that God is still working on all of us — refining, healing, and shaping us into His image. When frustration arises, may we remember His faithfulness in the past and trust that the good work He began will surely be completed. TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 1:6 🌿 MAIN TAKEAWAYS God’s work in you is not finished — He is still shaping and refining your heart. Progress takes time, but God’s timing is perfect. Patience and grace in our homes reflect the character of Christ. Looking back on God’s past faithfulness strengthens our trust for today. Spiritual maturity develops through the process, not instant perfection. 📖 SCRIPTURE REFERENCES Philippians 1:6 🙏 YOUR EVENING PRAYER Lord, Thank You for reminding me that You are still at work in my life. Forgive me for my impatience when I can’t see the outcome. I know that You are faithful and good, and that every situation is part of Your perfect plan. Help me to be patient with myself and others, and may my home overflow with grace as You continue to shape us into Your image. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

When You're Jealous of Someone Else's Joy | Your Nightly Prayer

Have you ever celebrated someone’s success while quietly wondering, “Why not me, Lord?” In our nightly prayer and devotional, that’s where Tracie Miles once found herself — sitting in her car after lunch with a friend who had just shared joyful news. Though she was genuinely happy for her friend, she also felt the sting of unfulfilled dreams and long delays. In Romans 12:15, God calls us to “rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.” It sounds simple until our emotions complicate it. Rejoicing when someone else receives what you’ve prayed for can be one of the hardest acts of obedience. Yet this verse challenges us to love beyond comparison, to celebrate beyond envy, and to sit compassionately with others in both their joy and sorrow. God doesn’t ask us to ignore our own disappointments — He invites us to bring them to Him honestly. The Holy Spirit reminds us that it’s possible to grieve your delay and still celebrate someone else’s breakthrough. His blessings are not limited or reduced by what He gives others. Our waiting season doesn’t mean we’ve been forgotten; it means God is still preparing our hearts for His perfect timing. When we learn to celebrate others freely, our hearts become lighter and more open to the work God is doing in us. And often, it’s in the moments we let go of comparison that God surprises us with His goodness — in His way, and in His time. TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE “Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.” — Romans 12:15 (NIV) MAIN TAKEAWAYS God’s command to “rejoice and mourn” calls us to compassion in both joy and sorrow. You can celebrate someone’s success while still waiting for your own breakthrough. God’s blessings aren’t limited — His timing is perfect for every story. True love chooses connection over comparison, empathy over envy. Learning to celebrate others prepares your heart for what God is preparing for you. SCRIPTURE REFERENCES Romans 12:15 YOUR EVENING PRAYER Dear Lord, You know how hard it can be to rejoice when I feel left behind, or to mourn when I don’t know what to say. Grow in me a heart that reflects Your love — one not ruled by comparison or fear. Teach me to celebrate others freely and comfort others with compassion. Help me remember that You have not forgotten me, and that Your timing is always right. Thank You for meeting me in both joy and sorrow. Help me love like You do. In Jesus’ name, Amen. THREE THINGS TO MEDITATE UPON Am I Willing to Celebrate Others, Even When I’m Still Waiting? Reflect on what it means to rejoice with those who rejoice, even when you’re still waiting for your own breakthrough. What might God want to teach you in their celebration? Have I Allowed God to Meet Me in My Own Mourning? Ask yourself whether you’ve been rushing past your own grief or minimizing others’. Where might God be inviting you to slow down and feel — both your own pain and the pain of those around you? What Does Love Require of Me Today — Empathy or Celebration? Living out Romans 12:15 means showing up for others in love. Who in your life needs your presence today — someone to mourn with, or someone to celebrate with?

Anne Wilson Shares How God Spoke to Her in the Middle of Pain and Heartbreak

Anne Wilson shared how God spoke to her in the middle of pain and heartbreak. The Christian country musician shared what the Lord said to her during one of the darkest and most devastating situations of her life. Watch the short but powerful clip to hear what the Lord said to Anne and how her listening to his message and direction changed her entire life.

Sadly, painful, agonizing situations and circumstances are unavoidable. They have a way of finding all of us at one time or another. Whether it’s the death of a loved one, job loss or some other hardship, those dark times are real, and they hurt -  every single one of them.

But even when we are hurting and struggling, God remains faithful and loving. He can take even the most devastating tragedy and bring about something beautiful. The Bible states as much in the New Testament book of Romans: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.”

In a clip posted on YouTube, Anne shared how she heard the voice of the Lord only moments after learning about a huge and devastating loss. She had just been informed that her brother had been killed in a car accident.

“So, I walked in, and the first thing I knew to ask was, ‘Dad, is he dead?’ she said. “And he looked up at me with tears in his eyes, and he said, ‘Yeah, Anne, Jacob’s dead.’ I turned around, and I faced these doors in this living room, and they were these glass doors. And I remember seeing myself in the reflection of these glass doors. I heard the voice of the Lord for the first time in my life, and I’ll never forget. He said to me, clear as day, ‘Anne, are you going to trust me or are you not?’”

Immediately after hearing that question, Anne decided to rely on and trust the Lord as she and her family navigated this horrific and devastating tragedy.

“I remember saying, ‘Jesus, I trust you,’” she said. “And in that exact same moment, I felt this peace that I have never experienced since then – the Lord’s presence, of like, I just knew I was going to get through it. I didn’t know what it was going to look like.”

It was at her brother’s funeral, while performing for the first time, that the Lord revealed His plans for her life to her. He was calling her to create music to bring praise, glory and honor to His name.

Psalm 23:4 “Yes, though I go through the valley of deep shade, I will have no fear of evil; for you are with me, your rod and your support are my comfort.”

A Prayer for Grace after Stumbling | Your Daily Prayer

Sometimes life trips us up unexpectedly—small missteps, hidden slopes, or blind spots we didn't see. In our daily prayer and devotional, Sophia Bricker uses the metaphor of stumbling at the zoo to illustrate how sin and error can catch us off guard, impacting our steps long after the fall. The good news is that we don’t have to stay down. God offers grace to the fallen. When we confess our sins—not hiding them or excusing them—Scripture promises that God is faithful to forgive and purify us (Psalm 51:4; Psalm 32:5; Proverbs 28:13). Rather than despairing over past failures, we can lift our hands, repent, and allow Jesus to stand us up, clean off our wounds, and guide our next steps. God is the Helper of the brokenhearted. The One who lifts those bent under burdens (Psalm 145:14) is the same One who receives our confessions and restores us. In His mercy, we can walk in freedom, not haunted by what we once did, but empowered by who we are in Christ. Today's Bible Reading: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” — 1 John 1:9 (NIV) Key Takeaways Falling into sin doesn’t disqualify us from God’s forgiveness. Confession is the pathway back to cleansing and restoration. God’s grace is more powerful than our failures. He doesn’t just pick us up—He purifies and strengthens us for the journey ahead. Let’s Pray Together Lord, I confess my sins before You. I have stumbled and failed You, but I thank You that You are faithful to forgive. Wash me, purify me, and lift me up by Your grace. Help me walk forward in the strength and forgiveness You freely give. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Prayer for a Heavenly Perspective | Your Daily Prayer

In today’s digital age, it’s easy to let social media, comparisons, and material desires set the tone for our days. As Emily Massey notes in our daily prayer and devotion, we can operate with “self glasses”—seeing through lenses of envy and dissatisfaction instead of through the eyes of Christ. But Scripture points us to a better way. Because we are raised with Christ, Paul tells us to seek heavenly things, not earthly. When we fix our minds on eternal truth, we begin to resist idols of envy, comparison, and worldly ambition. This discipline doesn’t deny our earthly life. Rather, it reorders our spiritual vision. God becomes our anchor, not our circumstances. Our contentment shifts from what we see to who we belong to. And we learn to celebrate others’ blessings instead of resenting them. Today's Bible Reading: “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.” — Colossians 3:1-2 (NKJV) Key Takeaways Comparison and covetousness can become spiritual idols when we prioritize them over God. Setting the mind on heavenly realities changes how we interpret earthly life. Our identity in Christ frees us from needing external validation or accumulation. A heavenly perspective shapes gratitude, humility, and love toward others. Let’s Pray Together Heavenly Father, help me to remove the “self glasses” and see life through Your lens. Cleanse my heart of comparison and envy. Fix my eyes on You and Your eternal promises. Teach me to celebrate others and rest in Your sufficiency. May my life reflect heaven’s values now. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Letting Go of What You Can't Fix | Your Nightly Prayer

As the day winds down, our minds often refuse to rest. In our nightly prayer and devotional, we reflect on the fact that worries, fears, and the weight of world events swirl in our thoughts, leaving us restless. We long for peace, yet find ourselves trying to fix what’s beyond our control. In tonight’s reflection, Lynette Kittle reminds us that God never asked us to carry our anxieties alone. He invites us to release them into His capable hands. The act of casting our cares is more than a suggestion — it’s a call to trust that He truly will take care of us. When the night feels heavy, God’s Word assures us that we can rest safely in His presence. As Psalm 139:5 says, “You hem me in behind and before, and You lay your hand upon me.” Tonight, may that truth quiet your thoughts and steady your soul. TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7 Ponder: God calls us to release every worry, fear, and concern to Him — not to manage them alone. Trust is an act of surrender: believing that God will handle what we cannot fix. Peace comes from presence, not control — resting in the truth that He is faithful and watching over us. As you rest tonight, remember: you are hemmed in by His protection and covered by His peace. 📖 SCRIPTURE REFERENCES 1 Peter 5:7 Psalm 139:5 🙏 YOUR EVENING PRAYER Dear Father, Help us to cast every care, worry, and fear upon You tonight, trusting that You truly care for us. Quiet our restless minds and bring peace to our hearts. When anxiety rises, lead us back to Your presence and truth. Hem us in, Lord, and let Your hand rest gently upon us as we sleep. In Jesus’ name, Amen. 🌙 THREE THINGS TO MEDITATE UPON Before bed, recite or read 1 Peter 5:7. Let its promise sink deep into your spirit. Write down your worries, then crumple and toss them away — a physical act of releasing your burdens to God. As you lie in bed, imagine God’s protective hand covering you, as described in Psalm 139:5.

When Life Feels Uprooted | Your Nightly Prayer

What does it really mean to be blessed? In our evening prayer and devotional, we reflect on the fact that, too often, we equate blessings with success, comfort, or ease — but Jeremiah reminds us that true blessing comes from being rooted in God, even in seasons of drought. In this episode, Kyle Norman reflects on how God’s blessings sustain us in times of change and challenge. Like a tree planted by water, the faithful remain nourished and steadfast even when life feels uprooted. God’s promise isn’t the removal of hardship — it’s the assurance of His sustaining presence through it all. TONIGHT’S SCRIPTURE: “They will be like a tree planted by water…its leaves are always green.” — Jeremiah 17:8 🌿 MAIN TAKEAWAYS God’s blessings are not defined by outward success, but by inward connection to His presence. Even when “heat” and “drought” come, those rooted in God remain strong. The faithful life draws continuously from God’s living water — His Spirit, Word, and grace. True stability in life comes from confidence in the Lord, not in circumstances. 📖 SCRIPTURE REFERENCES Jeremiah 17:8 Psalm 1 John 7:38 🙏 YOUR EVENING PRAYER Lord Jesus, You are the living water, the source of everything I need. Help me to stay rooted in You, even when life feels uncertain. Give me strength when trials come and peace when my heart feels shaken. Keep me grounded in Your love so I may bear fruit that honors You. In Your precious name, Amen. 🌙 THREE THINGS TO MEDITATE UPON Reflect on Psalm 1: What does it mean to live like a tree planted by streams of water? Meditate on John 7:38: How do you draw spiritual strength from Jesus, the source of living water? Ask yourself: What would it look like to place full confidence in the Lord amid life’s uncertainties?

'The Middle’ Actor Atticus Shaffer Delivers a Powerful Christmas Message

“The Middle” actor Atticus Shaffer delivered a powerful Christmas message. His moving words get to the heart of what the Christmas celebration is all about. Watch the short yet touching clip to hear his heartwarming words about Christmas and Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.

Without Jesus Christ, none of us would have a chance. We’d all still be lost, living in sin and shame and looking toward an eternity separated from Him, one filled with much weeping and gnashing of teeth. Because we are a fallen and sinful bunch, that is the fate that human beings rightly deserve.

However, that no longer has to be our future, our eternity. Only because of the love, grace and mercy of Jesus Christ can we be forgiven and experience eternal life with Him. We can have a future and a hope because Christ willingly went to the cross, where He suffered and died. But that wasn’t the end of the story. He rose again days later, forever winning the victory over sin, death and the grave.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Atticus, best known for playing Brick Heck on the beloved television series “The Middle,” reads the account of Jesus’ birth from the Gospel of Luke. Following the reading from the New Testament book, Atticus passionately talked about Christ’s birth and the forgiveness, hope and victory found in Him.

“My dear friends, this is incredible,” he says. “This is an event that has occurred in the world’s history that completely changed the course of human history. We are able now, through the finished work of the cross, through God’s grace and mercy, to no longer be divided from Him because of the chasm of sin. But instead, be grafted into the family of Christ, through the blood of Christ. And we are His and His alone eternally.”

Later in the clip, the actor addresses specifically those who do not know Christ, informing them of what they can do and how to accept His gift of forgiveness.

“And if any of you out there have not done so already, you can pray a simple prayer right now, repenting of your sins and making Jesus the Lord and Savior of your life,” he added. “And your ultimate destination would change from hell to heaven.”

1 John 1:9 “If we say openly that we have done wrong, he is upright and true to his word, giving us forgiveness of sins and making us clean from all evil.”

A Prayer for Discernment in a Dark World | Your Daily Prayer

Darkness is not just an abstract concept—it’s real, pervasive, and often alluring. In our daily prayer and devotional, Lynette Kittle points out that because people often choose what is hidden over what is light, believers need God-given discernment more than ever. Self-understanding, cultural noise, and even spiritual deception can make it difficult to tell what is truly of God and what is not. That’s why we must cultivate spiritual insight—not just rely on our instincts or emotions. She outlines four foundational ways to train discernment: Ask God for discernment (like Solomon in 1 Kings 3:9). Feast on God’s Word, because Scripture anchors our thinking (Hebrews 5:14; Acts 17:11). Test the spirits, discerning whether what we hear or sense aligns with Christ (1 John 4:1–3; 2 John 1:7; 1 Timothy 4:1; Galatians 1:8). Walk in God’s light—live transparently, in fellowship, guided by truth, not shadows (1 John 1:5–7). Discernment isn’t optional. In a world crowded with competing voices and moral confusion, we must actively choose to walk in the light, reject deception, and embrace truth. Today's Bible Reading “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” — Ephesians 5:11 Key Takeaways Darkness is real, and we must avoid complicity with its works. Discernment is a spiritual skill—learned by dependence on God, not self. The Word of God is our measuring rod—if “revelations” conflict with Scripture, they must be rejected. Walking in the light is both protective and revealing. Let’s Pray Together Father, thank You that You call us out of darkness into Your marvelous light. Grant me a discerning heart today—teach me to ask You, to read Your Word, to test what I hear, and to walk in Your light. Protect me from deception. May I see clearly in a confusing world, and may my life reflect Your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
