One woman in New York City got a big surprise when the kind and generous customers she waited on left her a massive $500 tip.

Kindness can take many different shapes and forms. Whether it be an unexpected word of encouragement, a simple gesture like holding the door for someone or a friendly wave or head nod, that kindness can brighten someone’s day, week or year. 

However, some people may be able to unexpectedly bless others financially. Clair Howell, a waitress in a Manhattan restaurant, was on the receiving end of a $500 tip, according to a video posted on YouTube.

The tip, as the video explains, came on a bill of $232. Clair, in an interview explaining her unexpected and large tip, was beaming.

“I’m just, like, in total shock,” Clair said. “Like, like what? And I’m looking around, and they’re gone, totally gone.”

But the $500 tip wasn’t the only thing written on the bill. The customers had written a message for Clair. It was directions on how she was supposed to spend the $500. 

“GO SEE MERRILLY!” the note read. “SIT IN THE ORCHESTRA!”

Clair said that during the meal, she talked to the customers and asked about their plans. She asked them if they were taking in one of the plays on Broadway. 

They were, in fact, headed to a Broadway play. They were seeing “Merrily We Roll Along.”

Clair, following the directions given to her by the generous customers, went online and bought a ticket to the show that night. The tip covered the price of the ticket and then some. 

Instead of using the money elsewhere, Clair said that she felt she had to follow the guidance from the customers and buy herself a ticket to the show.

There are still kind, generous and thoughtful people in the world. Most, like those who tipped Claire, don’t seek recognition for their kindness either.

A grandmother and grandfather received an unexpected but deeply moving and tear-inducing surprise for Christmas when their adult grandchildren arrived at their house for a sleepover.

Most grandparents, over time, develop deep, committed relationships and bonds with their grandchildren. Hundreds of videos on social media show sweet grandchildren excitedly running to their grandmother or grandmother immediately after spotting them. But nearly all those videos involve tiny children and never adult grandchildren approaching their grandparents with unmitigated joy and happiness. 

One clip posted on social media shows seven adult cousins showing up unexpectedly at their grandparents' residence show on Christmas. It’s clear from the puzzled looks on their grandmother and grandfather’s faces that they are confused and unsure of what to make of their visitors' sudden appearance. 

With blankets, sleeping bags and other supplies in hand, the adult grandchildren proudly announce that they have arrived at their grandparents' house for a slumber party. 

“We came to have a sleepover,” one woman states as her grandmother opens the door.

“You came to have a sleepover?” the grandmother asks.

The grandmother, once she comprehends their intentions, is thrilled with their plans for the evening.

“Well, that’s great,” the grandmother says. “Are you serious?”

Later in the clip, someone asks her grandmother if she is bothered by her grandchildren’s sudden and unexpected appearance in her home.

“That’s the best Christmas present ever,” she enthusiastically answers.

Seconds later, the grandmother becomes overwhelmed with emotion. She is moved by her grandchildren’s sweet, moving and loving plans to spend the night with her. 

The grandmother buries her face in her hands and begins sobbing. Two of her granddaughters walk over and give her a loving embrace.

What a simple, but simple gesture that likely meant the world to those grandparents, especially, as the video shows, to the grandmother.

Who wouldn’t want such a sweet surprise?

One kind, generous and enterprising young man has raised and given thousands of dollars to charities by selling hot chocolate and lemonade.

Everyone has the ability to make a difference in the world. What someone may see as a small and unexpected act of kindness could change someone’s day and life. No one is too young to do good or to make a positive change and impact the lives of others.

Julian Lin, a 9-year-old young man, understands this and has used his business skills and knowledge to help his fellow man, according to a video posted on YouTube.

The young man sells hot chocolate during the colder months and switches to lemonade when the weather warms up. The young man has done quite well for himself, but he’s not keeping all the money for himself. He gives 30 percent of his proceeds to charity.

As the video points out, when the wildfires were ravaging and destroying the island of Maui, Julian raised “more than $11,000.”

One man, who lost his home and his job due to the fire, said the money from Julian has been a lifesaver.

“I’m using it to buy my food,” Ryan Chagas said. “And to buy all new clothes for me. I’ve never seen a kid with so much heart in my life.”

In the video, Julian, whose favorite charity helps animals, has a goal with his business.

“My goal is to end all world hunger and homelessness for both people and animals by revolutionizing business.”

What an impressive young man! 

Julian has some mighty lofty goals. However, he’s not letting his age or inexperience keep him from at least trying to make a positive impact in the world and in the lives of others. His efforts are impacting people and animals all around him.

Actor, author and television show host Kirk Cameron and NBA player Jonathan Isaac discussed several topics pertaining to God, religion and faith, including “finding true greatness.”

The world is lost and broken, filled with struggling and hurting people. Sin, ever since it entered the world, has done nothing but hurt, destroy, and damage. Sin has also caused man’s priorities, goals and aspirations to become inverted and opposed to that of God.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Kirk and Jonathan talked about how the world so often defines greatness and how God would define greatness, and how finding true greatness is only possible through Jesus Christ.

Typically, the world looks at the exterior and accomplishments, and that’s how they define greatness.

“The world has defined greatness as accolades, statistics, what you have, the money in your bank account, how many things you want, all these different things,” Jonathan said. “And it makes us insecure about who we are. It makes us fearful about other people and what other people think about us because we’re measuring ourselves on a worldly standard of greatness.”

However, as Jonathan correctly puts it, “true greatness” is only found in the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ.

“But I believe that true greatness is found in Christ,” Jonathan said. “And when believers can come together and say, ‘You know what? I don’t need to define myself by worldly standards. I am truly great because of who lives on the inside of me.’”

Jonathan adds that his statement of being truly great is not a brag but an answer to those hurting in the world.

“It’s not a boastful thing,” he said. “It’s not an arrogant thing. It’s saying, ‘I have in me what the world needs and God is for me. God is not against me. God is on my side.’”

In addition to being a professional basketball player, Jonathan is also a speaker, minister and the founder of Unitus, a clothing company that “champions faith, family, and freedom. Together we’re redefining greatness,” according to the company’s website

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, said the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

A brave young woman stepped in and saved the day and her 4-year-old brother from becoming a possible kidnapping victim.

Children are precious gifts from the good Lord. They bless their parent’s lives in many ways by adding an infinite amount of joy and happiness. Parents might describe their children as their hearts outside their bodies walking around, interacting with the world. 

The invaluable and priceless nature of children and how much they mean to their parents and siblings makes one little girl’s actions that much more heroic. In a clip posted on YouTube, one girl stepped in and prevented the kidnapping of her little brother.

The clip shows a man in a Florida Walmart approaching the four-year-old, grabbing his hand. He then attempts to leave the area quickly with the child. Thankfully, the man’s sinister attempt was prevented. The child’s older sister witnessed the man’s devious actions and swooped in to save the day.

The video states that after spotting what was taking place, she also reached out to the 4-year-old, grabbed the young man by the arm and pulled him back to safety. 

Authorities were quickly alerted to the situation. They tracked down the suspect and arrested him. He has since been charged with false imprisonment of a child.

Thank God that the 4-year-old’s sister was nearby and alert. She prevented what could have been a disastrous, tragic and heartbreaking situation. She is truly a hero, saving her precious little brother from a potentially terrifying situation.

The world is a lost and broken place where heinous and evil things happen daily. But just like that 4-year-old had his older sister looking out for him, we also have someone looking over us. Our Heavenly Father guides, directs and protects us during our every move. 

Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go, and even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

How to be Humble

Two of the biggest names in music, Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani, took some time to take out a food truck and treat a handful of people to tater tots.

The food industry is high-stress, highly competitive and extremely demanding. Customers always have specific requests when making their orders. They also want to receive their meal or snacks in a timely fashion. Speed and accuracy, like many other industries, are the name of the game in the food industry. 

In a clip posted on YouTube, the Queen of Country Music, Reba McEntire and the lead singer of No Doubt, Gwen Stefani, learned a little about working in the food industry. The short, 3-minute clip begins with the two singers, combining Reba’s tater tots and Gwen’s sauce, hitting the road in a food truck. 

Or they at least tried to hit the road. 

The Voice coaches encounter trouble as their truck momentarily refuses to start. But have no fear, Reba, while working under the hood, beats on the vehicle with a wrench a couple of times, which seems to fix the issue. Magically, the truck starts up, and they are off and running.

They next run into another problem. Gwen has an issue understanding Reba’s food lingo.

“Rounds of tots for a walk,” Reba tells Gwen.

“What does that mean?” Gwen asks.

“Tots to go,” Reba explains.

But this wasn’t their only problem with communication.

“Get me a cup of mud,” Reba demands.

“That’s not even a real thing,” Gwen states.

“It’s a cup of coffee,” Reba adds.

“You’re just making all of this up,” Gwen says.

Eventually, despite their issues with the truck and the kitchen lingo, the two serve food to a handful of customers. Their food seemed to go well. No one voiced a complaint with the two enterprising cooks in the clip.

One couple in an Idaho neighborhood doesn’t let their advanced age keep them from helping others and acting when a need arises or something needs to be done. 

Life is a constant series of unexpected and unforeseen events. As a result, those situations can leave people needing help every now and then. Perhaps the need has something to do with finances, or it may even be a small, seemingly minuscule task that needs to be completed. 

Whatever the need may be – large or small – helping someone out and fulfilling a need can mean the world to others.

A clip posted on YouTube tells the story of two lovely individuals, an elderly couple – JoBeth, 88, and LaVar, who is 90 years old. Unfortunately, JoBeth and LaVar’s neighbors endured one of life’s unexpected events. Their neighbors were forced to confront a series of health issues.

As everyone knows and understands, when health situations or other such issues occur, other tasks fall by the wayside during these times. The focus and energy are on battling that much more pressing situation. 

But that’s when JoBeth and LaVar got to work. Those two sweet and caring individuals lent a hand to their neighbors, helping them with yard work while their neighbors attended to their health emergencies. 

Their neighbor mentioned that LaVar, at 90 years old, bundles up, makes his way outside and clears their driveway whenever it snows. 

But that is not all. LaVar, without being asked, came over and mowed his neighbor’s lawn in the summer.

LaVar’s wife, JoBeth, also helped their neighbors. She took care of their trash cans. She took it upon herself to ensure they got emptied and were always off the street.

For their loving works, LaVar and JoBeth received a basket of goodies when a team of journalists showed up at their house to show them some much-deserved appreciation.

JoBeth was overwhelmed and very appreciative of the unexpected gift.

One young man received assistance from an unexpected source as a police officer helped him set up his marriage proposal. 

Proposing marriage is a big, monumental step for every couple. It’s the question that sets everything else in a married couple’s life in motion. There would be no walks down the aisle, exchanging tear-filled vows or first kiss as a married couple without someone first popping the question. 

Given the importance of that moment, most people go all out, creating and crafting the right mood and situation. In a clip posted on YouTube, a college student, Craig Vandenberg, got an assist from a member of law enforcement.

The short, 2-minute clip begins with the officer calling up the young woman, Emery. He helps to bring her down to the college campus by creating a ruse, telling her that he has found her boyfriend’s lost wallet. He’s holding it for safekeeping, asking her to come to campus to pick up the wallet.

The whole time this conversation between the police officer and the young woman takes place, Craig stands off to the side, listening in as he holds a bouquet. 

As the call ends, Craig and the officer are confident that Emery has no idea what is coming once she arrives on campus.

However, before the big moment, the officer makes sure that Craig is 100 percent ready.

“You have the ring with you, right?” the officer asks.

“Yes,” Craig answers.

Later in the clip, the officer gives the lost wallet to Emery, and then Craig unexpectedly pops out of the back of the squad car, with flowers in hand.

The couple takes several steps toward the lake, away from the police car. The young man hands Emery the flowers and then goes down on one knee and pulls out the ring. He doesn’t even get the question out before Emery gives him an answer.

“Oh my God, yes!” she says.

Genesis 2:24 “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall join to his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”

Welcoming a new person into the world is always an emotional and joyous occasion, but one man had an additional reason to get choked up when he met his stepdaughter’s newborn for the first time.

Everyone loves babies, especially right after they are born. Family and friends will rush to the hospital, delivering gifts and checking up on the mother and father. Then, everyone waits their turn, holding and peering down at the newest bundle of joy and blessing from the good Lord.

John Roy Hennigan is the stepfather to Chloe. In a clip posted on YouTube, Chloe explains that John has been in her life before she was a teenager. She says that John raised her since she was 11 years old. 

Chloe, because John had played a massive role in her life, wanted to find a unique, sweet and caring way to honor him. She eventually landed on likely the most moving way to recognize John and show him how much he means to her. She named her child after him.

“We like to use family names, names that are sentimental for people that hold meaning in our lives,” Chloe said. “So, we wanted to do the same for our son. And Roy has raised me since I was 11, so I knew I wanted to use his name in one way or another.”

The video captures John holding the newborn tenderly and lovingly, gazing down at the young man. As he held the child in his arms, John said Chloe told him to do something odd.

“I’m holding him, and it’s just very special,” John said. “And then, I think Chloe said, ‘Look at his hat.” I saw “John Witt” and it was a very moving moment. I was already kind of emotionally stirred up, you might say, but it was a beautiful moment. I’m very honored to be quite frank with you.”

What a wonderful way to honor and show someone how much they mean to you!

One woman found a unique and sweet way to include her newborn as she accepted her college diploma from a Michigan school. 

Graduating from college is a huge life accomplishment. It’s a moment that deserves to be recognized and celebrated. Earning a college degree requires hard work, dedication and long and painstaking hours of concentrated study. 

Being a dedicated and loving mother is also something to be recognized and applauded. Grace Szymchack, a recent Ferris State University graduate, is both - a college graduate and a loving mother -  and she included her newborn child in her graduation ceremony.

Grace, while wearing the classic cap and gown, silently and patiently stands in line, waiting for her name to be called during her college graduation. It’s a monumental, life-changing moment for sure. 

However, as the clip posted on YouTube shows, there is something unusual about Grace’s outfit. It appears that a tiny little hand is poking out from her blouse, and that’s exactly what it is!

Grace has tucked her newborn daughter into her gown. 

As the video points out, Grace was originally scheduled to give birth to Annabelle three days after graduating from college. It was always going to be close. But as any parent knows, nothing with children is predictable. Annabelle arrived earlier than expected.

“I was hoping to make it until after graduation,” Grace said. “But my doctors had made it sound like they thought she would come a little early.”

Despite Annabelle’s earlier-than-expected entrance into the world, Grace was thrilled to be able to share that special moment with her newborn bundle of joy.

“It felt nice to have her by my side and to have her there with me,” Grace said.

That’s a special moment that Grace and her daughter Annabelle will likely cherish for the rest of their lives. Who else can say that they went through a college graduation before they could even walk or talk? 

Psalm 127:3 “See, children are a heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”

One young man had an entire auditorium cheering when he displayed his impressive and fancy footwork for all to see.

The opinions of others matter a great deal to much of the population. This kind of thinking has its upsides but also comes with many negatives. Most people are self-conscious and care too much about how others view them. Those concerns and fears will keep people from experiencing new and exciting things. 

But sometimes, when you hear the music, and the beat hits you just right, you can’t help but bust out a move or two. That happened to one young man in South Africa during his sister’s school dance recital, according to UpWorthy

The short, 1-and-a-half-minute clip shows a handful of children on stage moving and grooving to music as the beat pulsates throughout the room. The sweet children give the proud parents in the audience a cute show, but it’s clear that one child is feeling the music a little more than everyone else.

While standing in the middle of the stage, the young man dances like no one is watching. His moves are so confident and fluid and appear far beyond his young age. He switches effortlessly from one move to another, showing off his impressive skill. 

Many in the audience are heard hooting and hollering at the unexpected but thoroughly enjoyable show of impeccable dance moves. 

Not only does he dance like a seasoned trained professional who has loads of experience thrilling audiences, but he also mimes and mimics the song. 

The little guy is basking in the spotlight. He appears to enjoy every second of his time on stage. He is head and shoulders above his peers, with most other children standing nervously and with little to no movement. 

It does not matter what happened before or after that little guy’s dance clinic. His cool, smooth and suave moves stole the entire show!

Psalm 149:3 “Let them give praise to his name in the dance: let them make melody to him with instruments of brass and corded instruments of music.”

It was tears, smiles and hugs when a man who went into cardiac arrest and the two nurses who saved his life reunited following the scary episode.

Life is the most precious, valuable and delicate item on the face of the Earth. As such, it must be cherished and protected in every way imaginable. Loved ones can be here one moment and gone the next. No one is promised tomorrow.

Tim Wright, an Iowa man who went into cardiac arrest, is all too familiar with the precious nature of life. He nearly died after enjoying a meal with his girlfriend at a restaurant and likely would have if not for two people being in the right place at the right time.

“Finishing up the meal and getting ready to go, and all of a sudden, I just kind of felt warm and dizzy,” Tim said. 

Tim’s girlfriend, Jayda Hollander, immediately spotted Tim acting peculiarly and screamed for someone to help her. Luckily, God had placed two women, who are both nurses, in the restaurant. They had entered only moments before Tim’s health emergency.

Amber Burke and Wendy Rockey immediately sprang into action, performing CPR, switching off as the two women worked furiously to save Tim’s life. 

They continued to work on Tim until an ambulance arrived. 

The clip adds doctors stated Tim would have not survived if not for Amber and Wendy’s quick-thinking and lifesaving maneuvers.

The two women wiped tears from their eyes as they hugged Tim, the man who likely would have died if not for them being in the right place at the right time.

“Very happy that we were there and very happy that it turned out this way,” Wendy said.

Praise God for making sure that Wendy and Amber were where they needed to be at the precise moment.

Jeremiah 17:14 “Make me well, O Lord, and I will be well; be my savior, and I will be safe: for you are my hope.”

One dog was so thin and sick that her owners had made plans to put their beloved canine to sleep, but days before the appointment, the dog started showing signs of life again.

Pet owners, and all animal lovers, would do anything for their beloved pets, including going to great lengths to ease their pain and discomfort. Everyone wants to experience a pain-free life as much as possible. It’s gut-wrenching to watch someone we love, whether they walk on two legs or are of the four-legged and furry variety, suffer. 

Seeing an animal hurt, ache and wallow in pain is enough to cause even the most stoic person to shed a tear or two or three. That’s why one woman did everything she could for her dog, Harlow, when she began to lose a frightening amount of weight. 

In a clip posted on YouTube, Harlow’s owner described her as a “skeleton.”

“We could see every rib, every vertebra, all the bones in her legs,” Harlow’s owner said.

No matter how much food the animal ate or what the veterinarian did for Harlow, the animal could not put on any weight and continued to get sicker and sicker.

Eventually, Harlow’s owners made the difficult decision to end their beloved pup’s suffering. They had scheduled an appointment to put the sick animal to sleep.

But then, just days before the appointment, Harlow’s owners received a phone call from the vet. Their vet “suggests that Harlow might be among the rare number of dogs that has an allergic-like reaction to animal proteins.” 

Knowing that they had nothing left to lose, Harlow’s owners started the sick animal on a vegetarian diet. Immediately, the results were staggering! 

“All of a sudden, her symptoms stopped,” Harlow’s owner said. “Her eyes lit up. That wag in her tail came back.”

As the months wore on, Harlow continued to recover, putting on more and more weight back on, finally reaching a healthy size. 

Harlow was back, and her owners shed tears of joy and relief at getting their beloved pet back!

Proverbs 12:10 “An upright man has thought for the life of his beast, but the hearts of evildoers are cruel.”

A sweet and caring Dollar Tree cashier spotted a stressed-out mother and offered her some help.

Children are one of life’s biggest blessings. There is nothing like being a parent and welcoming a new bundle of joy into the home. Children add much joy, happiness and love to a parent’s life. They make life a fuller and richer experience. However, at times, children can and do add stress to life.

Like everyone else, children get tired, cranky and annoyed. However, unlike everyone else, and as every parent knows, children often make it entirely clear when they are tired, cranky and annoyed. Everyone within a mile radius of the children will know their mood. 

That’s what happened to one mother who was shopping in a New Jersey Dollar Tree. The mom’s hands were full as she was trying to check out. To make matters worse, her daughter was upset and in the middle of a meltdown, according to the video posted on TikTok.

The cashier gave the mom a hand. She picked up the young lady and kept her occupied, letting the child scan her mother’s items.

As the cashier holds the child in one arm, she grabs items with the other. The child then focuses all of her attention on moving the item across the scanner. 

The mother was grateful for the cashier’s sweet and caring move of unexpected kindness.

“She instantly changed our moods for the better,” according to the text in the short clip. 

The mother also added that while she never posts such things on social media, she couldn’t help but shine a light on the cashier’s loving move. 

“I never post stuff like this, but I just want this woman to have the world,” the text in the clip reads. “THANK YOU!”

What a simple but sweet and loving move that, at that moment, likely meant the world to a mother with an upset toddler.

A young woman who was diagnosed with, battled and beat cancer was gifted a trip to the most magical place on earth, Walt Disney World.

Cancer, in every single form, is a horrible, awful disease that only hurts and destroys. Families have been ripped apart by cancer. So whenever someone beats that life-threatening illness, it is a cause for celebration and a reason for joy.

Jessica Love, a 6-year-old, was diagnosed with Leukemia in August 2020. Hearing the word “cancer” from a trusted medical professional is a frightening and life-changing experience. But for a parent to hear that their child has been diagnosed with cancer has to be especially gut-wrenching.

Jessica’s mother, Laura Smith, explained what it was like knowing her daughter had cancer but feeling powerless to do anything about it.

“As a parent, where you want to protect and cure all the ‘owies’ and do all the things for your kiddos, and not being able to do that is really hard,” Laura said, fighting back tears. 

Nearly two years after she was diagnosed, Jessica was cancer-free. Praise God!

After beating that horrible disease, Jessica was taken to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, to hang out with Mickey, Minnie and all their pals.

Laura stated it was the perfect trip and a fitting ending to the scary ordeal.

But Jessica’s time at the parks in Florida was not the only magical thing that happened on the trip. On their flight back home, Jessica received a special message from a member of the flight crew.

“We have a very, very special guest on board here today that we wanted to recognize,” a flight attendant announced to the plane. “She, are y’all ready for this – has just beaten cancer. From all of your crew at Southwest, and I’m sure all of your fellow passengers, we want to welcome you home. We want to wish you a very healthy, happy, prosperous and long life ahead.”

3 John 1:2 “My loved one, it is my prayer that you may do well in all things, and be healthy in body, even as your soul does well.”

Legendary entertainer Dolly Parton reached out to one of her biggest fans, who is battling cancer, and talked for several minutes and even sang to the sick man.

Showing someone else kindness and love doesn’t cost much. Most of the time, it’s completely free, with the only expense being a few moments of our time. But those moments could mean the world to someone in need. A simple, unexpected act of kindness could put a smile on someone else’s face or change their outlook on life.

Dolly Parton is no stranger to kindness and love. Throughout her career, she has gone out of her way to help her fellow man. Dolly’s talent, as evidenced by a career spanning decades, is recognized and adored by millions. Despite all her success, Dolly has never stopped showing others love, kindness and care.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Dolly calls up and speaks to a Utah man dying of cancer. The man, who is lying down in bed, has a massive smile on his face as he speaks to the “Jolene” singer. 

Dolly begins the call with the sick man by thanking him for what he has done for her.

“Well, LG, I really thank you for shooting out the word that you’d like to talk to me,” Dolly says. “I’m just happy that we got to kind of have our journey together in this lifetime. I always want to make people happy with my music and with the things I do and the things I say. I’m just happy to know that I’ve touched your life in some way. The man responds that Dolly and her music have been a “huge help” to him. 

Dolly ends the call by telling the man that she “will always love” him. She then sings her hit song for him, changing the lyrics to include the man’s name.

One couple, Will and Sarah Mortensen, are familiar with the power of prayer as they witnessed God give them a miracle in the form of their beautiful baby girl.

The Bible is filled with miracles as God consistently demonstrates his power and love. However, most, if they are honest, would likely say that miracles don’t happen today. But Will and Sarah know from personal experience that God still performs miracles today.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Sarah, while 10 weeks pregnant with her and Will’s third child, received the results of a prenatal screening. It revealed that their child, a girl, had tested positive for Trisomy 18. 

Trisomy 18 is a rare chromosomal disorder in which 95 percent of unborn children do not survive a full-term pregnancy. Children with Trisomy 18 who do make it to birth rarely make it past their first birthday, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

Knowing these facts, Will and Sarah faced an uncertain future. How were they going to proceed? 

Sarah was scheduled to undergo a test that would have confirmed the diagnosis of Trisomy 18, which would guide them on how to move forward. 

One day, Sarah cried out to God, asking for His help, guidance and direction. She says immediately God responded, speaking to her through the voice of her unborn child.

“And then, right then, it was, like, so clear of feeling her voice say, ‘Like, Mommy, tell them to leave me alone. I’m just fine,’” Sarah said.

The couple decided to cancel the test and move ahead with the pregnancy. However, they would not know for sure if their unborn daughter had Trisomy 18 or not. 

For the next 30 weeks, Sarah, Will and their families prayed and prayed. 

On the delivery day, Sarah and Will’s third child was born. As the video mentions, the child had no sign of Trisomy 18. 

“It was such a great moment because I just knew that the Lord had told me this was going to be the outcome,” Sarah said.

Sarah, now a mother of three, saw firsthand the work of the Lord.

“God gave me a miracle,” Sarah said. “He saved my baby.”

Psalm 95:3 “For the Lord is a great God, and great King over all gods.”

A generous and loving Indiana high school teacher was overcome with emotion when she was surprised by her former students during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

The world is full of hurting and struggling people. They are trying to get through and survive by any means available. Individuals are dealing with overwhelming situations and shouldering massive burdens, including young children. 

One woman, a teacher at Carmel High School in central Indiana, has worked to provide healing and comfort to sick children. During her teaching career, Sarah has helped to raise more than $6 million for Riley Children’s Hospital at IU Health. The hospital specializes in providing care to youngsters. 

In a clip posted on YouTube, Sarah talks about the origins of the annual dance marathon, which raises funds for the children’s hospital. She also told Kelly about the many other ways throughout the year students raise money to help sick children. 

But throughout the interview, Sarah refuses to take much or really any credit. She constantly puts the spotlight on the students, saying none of it would have been possible without them and their dedication. 

Sarah states that she initially went into teaching to make a difference in the lives of others. She adds that she has been able to do that through the annual dance marathon. 

Near the end of the clip, around the 5:20-minute mark, Kelly surprises Sarah with a video of students from all over the country who had been involved with the fundraising efforts. 

They all thank her for her many generous and loving efforts, praising her for her “mission-driven fundraising” and “pouring her entire heart, soul and life” into her students.

The Indiana teacher is brought to tears. She brushes her eyes several times as her past students shower her with kind words and praise. 

At the end of the clip, the teacher is given a $25,000 check for Riley Children’s Hospital at IU Health.
