Christians have an open and direct line of communication with God. At any time and in any situation, we can talk to the Lord about anything and everything. With prayer, we have the opportunity to bring to Him our fears, concerns, requests and hopes for the future. Anything that may be weighing on our mind, we can bring to the Creator of the universe and leave it at His feet, knowing that He is faithful to respond and answer our prayers.

Now, while we may pray for something and want an immediate response, that doesn’t always happen. God has his own timeline and isn’t beholden to ours, as much as we would like and appreciate it if He were. Additionally, while God does answer every prayer, His response may not be what we wanted. When His answer isn’t what we were hoping for, we can become a little confused, hesitant and even angry. Without Christ’s death on the cross and His resurrection, none of us would have a chance. We would all still be lost, living in our sin and shame and without any hope of a future. Instead, we would be staring an eternity of damnation and separation from Him.

Instead, God made away and showed mercy on us by sending His one and only Son to take our place on the cross. However, while Jesus was and is the Savior, He was also fully human. Being human means He experienced the same situations, feelings and emotions we do. Needless to say, He’s been there and done that, which includes being put to bed by His mother and father.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a man and a woman hysterically envision how Jesus’ bedtime routine might have gone. Understandably, because of who He was and is, this process would likely have played out a little differently from what we’re used to, but we could still relate, at least to a point.

“Good night, Jesus,” the man, as Joseph, says in the clip. “We’re going to lock the doors, so you don’t flip tables in your sleep again, Ok?”

“It gets pretty messy,” the woman playing Mary adds.

Then comes the bedtime story, and Joseph, hysterically, has to defend himself. He states that he isn’t lying, that it is not “a sin” and “not dishonesty,” but simply a bedtime story.

These are just two of the funny conversations Mary and Joseph have with their very special little one as they try to put him to bed.

Everything, and I do mean everything, has gone up in price and continues to do so, regularly and at lightning speed. Sadly, given how much everything has increased, this, of course, means that your dollar and mine don’t go as far as they did in past years. Even if you don’t want to admit it, it’s as clear as day and the evidence is everywhere we look – the grocery store, the gas pump and all those bills.

In times like these, when the cost of everything is rapidly increasing, families must do what they have to do, which typically means cutting costs and scrimping and saving where possible. Letting go of some things like vacations, those streaming subscriptions and waiting a little longer to purchase that new shirt or pair of pants. Unfortunately, those cost-cutting measures can only go so far. Some things, like food and shelter, are necessary.

In a clip posted on YouTube, a comedian shows how the cost of child care has increased considerably over the years, reaching an insane level today.

Hilariously, the skit begins with “Then,” as the father opens the door while thanking the sitter for looking after his four children for eight hours, he announces. He then hands over a laughably tiny amount – a couple of dollars and a handful of change. That seems to have satisfied his child care debt.

Next, in today’s day and age, the father opens the door, and without hesitation, forks over an undisclosed eye-popping amount of money. While trying to keep a brave face during the interaction, the father eventually breaks down.

Just because our wallets and our bank accounts may be taking a hit due to the rapid price increases of everything, that doesn’t mean our sense of humor and laughter have to. Hey, laughing is one of the very few things that does not cost you anything.

Teaching is not an easy profession, and anyone who says otherwise is badly mistaken. Those in the educational field are tasked with imparting wisdom and knowledge to the next generation. They are literally shaping and molding our country’s youth. A teacher’s actions in the classroom will have repercussions for years to come.

One big reason why teaching is often such a challenging career is that it’s nearly impossible to share knowledge with someone who isn’t willing to listen and learn. In those cases, when children aren’t so keen on sitting and hearing an entire lecture, educators have to get creative. They will use less conventional routes to reach students and, in many ways, become entertainers.

Students who are interested and engaged are more likely to remember, learn and absorb the information, facts and figures the teacher is sharing with the class. Think back on your own educational journey. What classes and teachers do you most remember? Of course, it’s those men and women who made learning fun and interesting.

That is exactly what one educator does, and he has gotten very creative with his latest clip posted on YouTube. In the video, the teacher used comments he heard his students say in his classroom, and made them into a song, a gospel song, to be exact.

The lyrics are not ones you would typically hear in a gospel tune, or any song for that matter. However, they are still laugh-out-loud hilarious, and show that this teacher has a sense of humor and does not take himself too seriously. You know, given this teacher’s humor and creativity, his students are likely to enjoy his class very much.

Dating is not always easy. In fact, more often than not, the process of finding a mate can be uncomfortable, intolerable and even downright excruciatingly painful. Basically, it’s a trial-and-error process, where the more bad dates someone goes on, the better their odds of encountering Mr. or Mrs. Right, or at least that’s the conventional thinking would go.

While dating, a process of elimination is taking place. A person, when going out on a date, discovers the kind of person they are hoping to find. The people who do not meet these requirements or qualifications, whatever they may be, are eliminated from consideration, and then people go from there, spending time with one another. Does this relationship have legs? Will this work? Will it not, and if not, why not?

For Christians, one way to decide whether a relationship has staying power and a future is to take them to church. How will they react and what will they think of the service? There is only one way to find out, right?

In a clip posted on YouTube, a couple goes on a date to church. It begins with the couple taking their seats in the sanctuary, settling in for the service. While they are both looking straight ahead and participating throughout the service, their minds are anywhere but on what is happening in front of them.

Instead, both of them are constantly wondering what the other is thinking and feeling about the service. They are also making snap judgments about each other, worrying about whether they should do this or that and how their actions might be interpreted by the other person.

Given how awkward and strange this date went, I’m guessing there weren’t any others after this one.
